The city guides Bergen op Zoom want to make a cautious start again with a number of activities, including the opening of St. Gertrude’s Church.
St. Gertrude’s Church is a church with an eventful history. It was originally a fairly simple church, which was regularly extended and decorated until the end of the fifteenth century. In 1489 Anthonis Keldermans was commissioned to design a new church building. A testament to the economic prosperity of the city and the optimism of the time. It is no longer possible to trace what the design of the new church looked like.
Due to Corona, a maximum of 30 visitors can enter.
For this activity, a protocol has been drawn up by the guide service, which indicates which safety measures are taken to ensure that everything runs corona-proof.
In March and April, St Gertrudis Church can be visited free of charge every Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 13.00-16.30 hrs.
St. Gertrudis Church is open from 27 April on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10.00 to 16.30 hrs.
On Sundays, the church is open from 13.00 to 16.30 hrs.
